Our Mission

Solar knowledge for the people who need it most.

Son of Surya is being built in public — one guide, one product, one conversation at a time. We're early. We're honest about it. And we're here for the long run.

Why we exist

India has more sunlight than almost anywhere on earth. But the people who stand to benefit most from solar — farmers, rural families, coastal communities — are also the ones least served by the industry.

Most solar content is written for engineers or investors. The farmer who wants to run a water pump, the homeowner in a tier-3 town who wants to cut her electricity bill, the fisherman who needs reliable power on the water — they get jargon, not answers.

Son of Surya exists to change that. We write practical guides in plain language. We curate tools and gadgets that actually work in Indian conditions. And we share everything we learn along the way.

Who we're building for

Farmers

Solar irrigation, water pumps, and agri-energy — reducing input costs and dependence on the grid.

Rural homeowners

Rooftop solar, battery backup, and subsidy navigation for families outside major cities.

Coastal communities

Off-grid and hybrid solar for fishing villages, coastal homes, and areas with unreliable grid supply.

Small EPC contractors

Practical design and installation knowledge for the people actually putting panels on rooftops across India.

What we stand for

01

Plain language, always

If a farmer in Vidarbha can't understand it, we haven't done our job. No jargon, no gatekeeping.

02

Honest about what we don't know

Solar is complex. We'll tell you when something is outside our expertise and point you to someone better.

03

Built for Indian conditions

Dust, heat, monsoons, voltage fluctuations, subsidy schemes — our guides are written for the reality on the ground here.

We're building in public

Son of Surya is early-stage. We launched with a small library of guides and a curated set of solar gadgets. We're adding more every week.

We share our progress, our mistakes, and what we're learning on Instagram and YouTube. If you want to follow along — or tell us what you need — we'd love to hear from you.
